Sri Lanka & The Maldives
As a family of 4 we just spent the last 12 days touring around Sri Lanka under the guidance of Raphal from Island Trek Tours and the quietly spoken but ever reliable driver Sandy. From the airport pick up in a large spacious extremely clean van to making my family and I feel safe and secure everything was organised perfectly. As a Dad travelling with my wife and two daughters, Sandy looked after every detail with his vast network of contacts and had us in the best spots at all times. Highly recommended Island Trek Tours, especially the service delivered by Raphal, accomodating all our needs, even some last minute changes while on tour. A Truly Memorable Sri Lankan Experience
Our recent 8-night tour of Sri Lanka with Island Treks was absolutely fantastic, and we highly recommend them! From the moment we arrived in Colombo from Australia, we were warmly welcomed by our personal guide, Charith (aka C.M.). The entire private tour was exceptionally well organised, and we are so pleased we chose Island Treks over a larger group tour. After experiencing Sri Lanka’s winding roads, we couldn’t imagine travelling in a big bus! C.M. was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and we shared plenty of laughs along the way. He taught us some of the local language, introduced us to a variety of delicious tropical fruits, and often went out of his way to show us additional places of interest that weren’t on the itinerary. His genuine care and enthusiasm ensured we were always enjoying ourselves. All of the accommodation arranged by Island Treks was comfortable and well chosen, making our journey even more enjoyable. We returned home with a much deeper appreciation for Sri Lanka, its beautiful scenery, and its wonderfully warm and welcoming people. Sri Lanka with Island Treks
We spent 6 days touring Sri Lanka organised by Island Treks with our fabulous driver Charith Mihiranga. From the outset everything was organised to perfection from our warm greeting and beautiful flowers to our drop off at the airport at 5am. As the start of the monsoon was upon us, and rain storms moved in late on some afternoons, Charith organised our days with precision, professionalism and most of all with an infectious sense of humour. Sri Lanka was beautiful but Charith was the star of our trip. His knowledge and guidance enhanced our trip to experience the most of Sri Lanka in the limited time we had available. We sampled local foods, beautiful landscapes, breathtaking waterfront bars and most of all embrased the beautiful culture of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka trip with Island Treks
We visited Sri Lanka for around 2 weeks. Island Treks gave our family an incredible experience from start to finish. Everything was so well organised, but what really stood out was the flexibility to adapt plans when needed and make sure everyone was happy. Travelling with kids can be challenging, but Manoj was fantastic—patient, friendly, great with the children, and always calm and professional. We felt safe and well cared for the entire trip. The itinerary was the perfect balance of culture, physical activity and relaxation, giving us a real feel for the country while still allowing time to unwind. An amazing trip to Sri Lanka with Island Treks!
My husband and I just returned from an amazing 12 day trip to Sri Lanka organised through Island Treks. In the planning stages, the very personable Raphal listened to the type of trip we were envisaging, and then put together an itinerary to meet our needs. He was more than happy to spend time talking on the phone, and emailing through ideas and possibilites to tweak things here and there for us. In this way, the service from Island Treks meant that it was a custom tour, just for us. It was reassuring knowing that we were dealing with a company clearly intent on providing a personal service, rather than a larger tour company. Having our own driver gave us great flexibility, too, as we could change up some things as we went along. Our driver, Charith (CM) was lots of fun, thanks CM! He really took care of us, and we appreciated his quirky personality and laughs along the way. I think he soon worked out that we wanted more from our trip than just seeing the big sights. He took the time to explain about the culture, people and places we visited, adding to the experience, and we made some additional stops/visits (not on the itinerary) which added to the fun, like stops to New Year festivals and waterfalls in Ella for swimming. CM also worked behind the scenes to ensure hotels and tour stops were ready for us, making the whole trip appear seamless. Thank you Island Treks for a wonderful holiday experience - we looked forward to our Sri Lankan adventure for a long time, and it met all our expectations and more. From start to finish, everything was organised seamlessly, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy every moment of the trip. Charith’s knowledge of the country, culture, and hidden gems made the experience feel so personal and special. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, safe, and getting the most out of every day—whether it was spotting wildlife on safari, navigating train journeys, or recommending amazing local spots we never would have found ourselves. We had an incredible trip through Sri Lanka and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything was so well organised and thoughtfully planned, which made the whole experience completely stress-free. The country itself is absolutely stunning — from the lush greenery of the hill country to the beautiful coastline — but what really made our trip special was the warmth and kindness of the people. Everywhere we went, we felt genuinely welcomed. A huge thank you to our guide, Charith, who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, informed, and enjoying every moment. His knowledge, patience, and attention to detail made such a difference, and we always felt safe and well looked after. The safaris were a real highlight — such an unforgettable experience seeing wildlife up close in their natural habitat. The train rides through the hill country were equally special, with the most breathtaking scenery we’ve ever seen. Every part of the journey felt seamless, with a perfect balance of sightseeing, relaxation, and unique local experiences. It’s a destination that truly has something for everyone. Great experience working with island treks travel on our recent holiday to Sri Lanka and the Maldives we dealt with Raphal he was amazing at organising the places I wanted to visit and also the main attractions throughout our 10 days in Sri Lanka He kept in contact with us through out the holiday Every thing went so smoothly from the airport in Sydney to the driver Sandy (wonderful guy) picking us up at Sri Lanka airport and drove us around privately all 10 days 👌thank you for giving me and my husband a wonderful holiday to celebrate our 60 th ❤️
